XSR900 Y-AMT

Tier A · #6

Retro racing looks, the modern CP3 triple underneath, and clutchless shifting. Café-racer style with a genuinely easy ride.

Cafe-racer looks, zero clutch lever.
On the road

The same CP3 triple, dressed in gorgeous retro clothes. A touch less aggressive than the MT-09 but no less quick, and arguably more charming to ride and to look at.

The automatic bit

Y-AMT lets you concentrate on the road, and on your reflection in shop windows, rather than the gearbox. Triggers for hands-on shifting, auto for relaxed cruising.

Living with it

The premium styling commands a premium over the MT-09, and the riding position is committed. For the looks and that triple, plenty of riders will consider it money well spent.

The verdict

The XSR900 trades a little MT-09 aggression for class and gains real charm. Y-AMT lets you focus on the view in the mirrors rather than the gearbox.
